MAIN WORKSHOP DESCRIPTIONS
LILHOOPGIRL 1 Body-ody-ody Get out your big hoop because it’s time for on-body hooping. This workshop is about getting the hoop to stay on your body as you move it from your head to your toes.. literally. Every move has levels to keep everyone challenged. This class will get you sweating and leave you wanting to pick up your big hoop at home. This is an all levels workshop.
2 (Coin)cidence? I think not! This workshop is all about coinflips and cointosses. My two favorite things! This is the perfect workshop to learn the basic coinflip and ways to advance it. You’ll learn tons of cointosses you’ve never tried before. To put everything together, we’re learning a choreography! Don’t be shy, come learn! This is an all levels workshop.

this workshop is for those who like to think and use their approach to flow to deepen their flow state In this workshop we will be working through a series of prompts designed to help us understand where we might not be putting enough energy or areas that we can improve upon to reach out goals This is workshop is a safe space for us to share things that might me holding us back so we can dissolve any shame attached to them and grow and beautiful dancers together This is not a trick sharing workshop but rather a workshop designed to help you get out of your head by getting into your head Bring a notebook, a pen, and an open mind.
2MOVE WITH YOUR HOOP
In this workshop space will be held for you to experiment and play through guided prompts designed to expand your hoop mindset. You will also be asked a series of questions to help deepen your understanding of flow. Rachel will take the time to share her approach to the hoop and you are welcome to take notes and ask questions. You will learn an expressive and explosive original hoop choreography. At the end of the class there will be an option to share your flow with Rachel and receive feedback. This workshop is accessible to intermediate and advanced hoopers, however beginners are welcomed to come and challenge themselves. TECHSWAN 1Jawbreakers 101 this workshop explores variations of the jawbreaker with single hoop. Learning basic mechanics of jawbreaking and building off this concept, this class will be sure to help you add some unexpected, jaw-breaking & jaw-dropping flair to your flow. 2Coinflip Exploration this workshop explores the endless world of coinflips. We will break down the basics of the coinflip, progressing from beginner coinflips all the way to more advanced coinflips and coinflip rolls, and even transitions to integrate these tricks seamlessly and make your flow more 3-D and dynamic.
ISOPUPPY 1Double Hoop tech plus intro to Triple Tech Are you ready to discover the world of Hula hooping? Together we unlock the off body grid and the three dimensional planes of hoop dance. You will learn optical illusions that require precise movements and will have a new understanding of space-time. Let’s use centrifugal force, patience, timing, and practice to master many patterns that are easily available to us with the right instruction! Get ready to become living sacred geometry. Foot Hooping, floor work, head stands and eye popping dance moves to wow audiences, will be instructed. It’s Time to drill two hoops on one hand in this isoflower for beginners practice, to warm up new arm movements . Later on Anti-spins are transformed into caps with an easy switch of direction, we talk over other theoretical patterns using different time intervals. Isolations are then explored and perfected. We introduce split time Cat-eye isolations on the vertical and horizontal plane. Weaves are perfected. (3 beat weave, crossers, the fountain, & thread the needle) I will teach you hula hoop vocabulary!Together we discover how to get out of any hooprut with an easy formula that allows for new patterns every time you pick up your circles. We end the twins section of the workshop with some extensions. The last section of the workshop is dedicated to using three hoops! Use the off body grid with triples. We start by mixing basic scissor switches with basic isolations next show-stopping wedgie combinations. Let’s drill some easy technical off body patterns and flashy illusions that will wow any audience. Get ready for multi hoop bliss! Plus intro to juggling 2Contact rolls +weaves with bonus ‘hoops n yoga cool down’ Learn smooth grid lines , and clean chest + back rolls in this off Body hoop class ~Uses single and double hoops Learn the difference between the two and three beat weave . Thread the needle backwards is drilled and applied . We discuss planes and how to use them. Learn the continuous contact roll as well as the K roll (side roll) , caps , crossers, extensions, pendulums and more! Awe your audience and your inner child by learning object manipulation. We touch on basic double hoop isolations Twin hoop tech is made easy and accessible to all ! Part two of this class includes introduction to Hoops and yoga: Master balance and flexible in this calming cool down ! Start with a group stretch using the hula hoop as a prop to help open up the shoulders. In a seated posture we rotate the spine using simple breathing exercises. Relax and unwind and fall in love with the present moment . Learn dancer pose wile hooping as well as tree pose and downward facing dog. Learn how to do a headstand and Hulu hoop on your foot. One step at a time using our core our inner strength and our love for life and the circle! Bring an open heart and starry eyes!
